Self-Care Success

Tell me if this sounds familiar (feel free to modify the details to fit your circumstances):

It’s Monday. Your alarm goes off at 6am because you have lunches to pack, kids to send off to 2-3 different schools, and work to get to all by 8am. You’ve had your gym bag in the car for a month now just in case you have time to break away during the day. OR maybe you understand your reality and have lost the gym bag entirely to keep it from mocking you.

Crap, you forgot to bring your coffee and lunch from home. That’s OK, you can hit the cafe or vending machine at work again, it’s always there like a reliable friend.  AND it’s [Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter or just any other day in the office] so there’s bound to be food around the office to graze on.

You race home from work at 5-ish to grab a bite of something. You’re not sure what, you haven’t thought that far ahead. You have to feed the kids something (good thing they like breakfast for dinner), and shuttle them off to swimming / baseball / karate / choir / soccer. Hopefully the stars align and your significant other/neighbor/or semi-organized carpool remembers to pick up your youngest from after-school.

It’s now 9pm, most of your children are home, none of them are in bed, all are looking at screens. You can finally relax for a bit. And if you’re anything like me, the Netflix force is strong. But you’ve made it through the day so you’ve earned this time. You’re beat.

Repeat.

Take a deep, deep breath.

If you can relate, how about imagining this instead:

It’s Monday. Your alarm goes off at 6am because you require a walk around the block before starting your day. You’re back by 7 to find your kids munching away on the overnight oats that they helped to make the night before. Awesome, you can hop in the shower. Since the kids also helped to pack their lunch last night, you’ve got time to throw some apples, pork loin, and cinnamon in the crock pot.

On your way out the door to work, you grab the leftover shepherd’s pie from the fridge for lunch. You walk in the back door at work and up the stairs to add a few steps to your day. You’ve got a flexible workspace in your office – and because you’ve started a friendly challenge at work, your undefeated frisbee team is talking smack in the halls.

You head home from work at 5-ish to a house that smells like baked apples. Dinner is ready, and you can feed your athletes before taxiing them off to swimming / baseball / karate / choir / soccer.  Because everyone’s schedule is posted on the fridge, you know exactly who is in charge of what kid.

Heck – you’ve even got time for a walk around the [insert sporting field] with the other parents while your eldest is practicing.

It’s now 9pm and the screen curfew is in effect. You can relax for a bit in the bath by candlelight because everyone knows that this is your time. That bath really knocks you out and you sleep like a baby.

How’s that? Damn. That’s not bad.

Perhaps you already know what you need to do to take better care of yourself. Or maybe you’re overwhelmed with the possibilities, stressed by the time constraints of the day, and somehow unable to enact the kind of change that you want in your life.

Well, I have something special for you, friend. Because…

I want you to set yourself up for self-care success.

Join me for a day of learning, moving, inspiration, & planning and walk away with your own personal 3-month self-care plan.

Yes indeed. This is mission: You.

And my mission is to facilitate your success.

How would it feel if you had a plan? How would it feel, if you aimed to feel the way you want to feel… everyday? How would it feel to know what’s for dinner every night? And maybe to know who’s cooking it? How would it feel to re-define movement and shift into something that fits right into your life and feels right?

How would it feel to prioritize you?

Your day will include:

  • A self assessment to recognize your routine, your stressors, and obstacles to your success.
  • Personal (meaningful) goal setting exercise.
  • Sharing, there’s lots of sharing, we’re sharing.
  • A movement-rich environment and tips about how to create your own.
  • An awesome lunch.
  • Ideas for how to maintain control week to week.
  • Creating a 3-month calendar, complete with seasonal dinner plans, movement goals, and other self-care priorities.
  • A community of like-minded people to connect with for support & accountability.

Make this be the start of something big in your life.

One investment of $249, and you’ll leave with a 3-month plan & the support to make it happen.

There are only 20 spots available for each event.

If this sounds like something you need, send me an email to get on the waiting list for the next event so I can send you the details.

Cheers!
